True Outback Yarns

Finke River sand dunes

The Kid and "Nupi" Finke River NT

Outback yarns are just as much part of the Outback as the dust, the sand and the flies.

Everyone has a story to tell. Some are true, some are fanciful and some fit in between the two.

These are some of my yarns. They are all true. For years friends, who haven’t been bored to tears by my repetition, have told me to write a book.

This website is a compromise to compensate for my inability to sit still long enough to write a book.

I have chosen to tell the stories that should give you an insight into the real character of the people and into the character of the Outback itself.

I will keep adding yarns to this page so please keep returning for more.
